Frequently Asked Questions

"When's the best time to call?"

Most businesses lock up their offices at 5 p.m., I'm available to talk to you 24 hours a day, 365 days a year...

Okay, if you call at 2:44 a.m. I may be a bit groggy. (I actually got a call once at 12:40 a.m. from a high school senior wanting to book a session!)  And, you might even have to talk to my answering system. But do call when you need to... when it's convenient for you. My office is in my home, so if I'm in I'll answer the phone. It doesn't matter what the time of day is.

The best time to catch me live and in person is around 9 a.m. or 7 p.m. If you do get "the machine" please leave a message and let me know when is the best time to call you back. I'll return your call as soon as possible. Don't worry about calling on Saturday or Sunday, it's not a  problem. Call at your convenience.

"What should I wear?"

Some photographers force you to wear a particular style or color of clothing, but not at Dynamic Photography...

I want you to "come as you are". Dress the way you feel comfortable. That's what natural style photography is all about. I will work with your ideas and match a background to your cloths. Multiple clothing changes are okay, too! Some people start the session all "dressed up", then go casual, but it's entirely up to you. Just let me know what you have in mind, or call for suggestions. You will find some "dressing information" elsewhere on this website. Just scroll down to the Site Navigation Area and click on link # 10, Dressing To Enhance Your Portrait".

"What About Props?"

Many photographers will try to limit the props you use because they feel it dates the photograph. But that's okay - we are documenting your family!

You can use any item that has significance to you, in your portraits. A favorite toy, hobbies, a family heirloom - anything that has a special meaning for you and your family. Don't be afraid to use your imagination. Let me know what your ideas are. My photo sessions are very flexible! Remember, I'm here to help you get great looking natural portraits!

"If I want more portraits later, how soon do I have to order them?"

Many photographers will trash negatives after a year or two, but at Dynamic Photography negatives remain on file forever!

You can order more portraits anytime. I don't intentionally destroy negatives, I store them. So even if it's years from now, if you want another portrait, please call. I'll be able to produce it for you.

"How long will my portrait session last?"

For many photographers, the objective is quantity. I know one photographer that prides himself on his 6 minute session time!

Quality photography takes a little extra time, and when it's done in a relaxed manner, in a comfortable setting, and especially with me creating the portraits, it's a lot of fun! So be prepared to enjoy yourself! And know that I will take as long as needed to get what you want. I'm not going to rush you through your session. Exactly how long your session will be depends on a  number of factors, that are impossible to determine beforehand. So I'll tell you that my average session time for indoor sessions is 110 minutes. My outdoor session average is 75 minutes.

I have had portrait sessions that lasted 2 1/2 to 3 1/2 hours, but that is rare. I just want to let you know that you won't be finished in 10 minutes! (If that's what you're looking for, check the yellow pages - you'll find plenty of photographers who will accommodate you!)

At Dynamic Photography I'd rather do it right, or not at all. And chances are, if you've stuck with me and read this far, so would you. So I  welcome you to the family of Dynamic Photography, where people who truly appreciate the value of fine portraiture come because they want the very best for their families.

"After my portrait session, when and how do I see my pictures?"

Most photographers will show you tiny pictures on a screen, or throw tiny paper proofs into an envelope and mail them to you. At Dynamic Photography I don't do any of that! Here's what I do!

You preview portraits will be ready for viewing about ten days after your photography session. To help you in your selections, your portraits will be presented as slides, projected to all available sizes. Your portrait projection appointment will take place in the comfort of your home. I will be there to help you and to answer any questions you have. There is no minimum order. You can order as many, or as few portraits as you like. There will be only one viewing, so please have all the decision makers present.

"Why are credit cards not accepted at Dynamic Photography?"

Many businesses accept credit cards because they think they have to, or they think they will lose sales if they don't. The simple fact is that there is no demand for credit card usage at Dynamic Photography!

In all the years I have been in business, I recall only a few people asking if credit cards are accepted. My clients write a check or use cash. They are not interested in using a credit card. Besides I have my own installment plan that is interest free with no fees of any kind. And it is provided for your use as a free service to you. Why in the world would you want to pay a credit card company something like 26% to charge it!

Also, you may or may not know this, but credit card companies are very expensive to deal with. What this means is that credit cards drive prices up! The cost of doing business with the credit cards companies has to be reflected in the prices you pay! It's simply not necessary for you to pay more when there is really no demand for credit card usage at Dynamic Photography.
